FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, at Beyond Speech Therapy, we accept insurance. We are in-network with many insurance companies, which allows us to provide services to clients with minimal out-of-pocket expenses. Additionally, we also offer billing for out-of-network services, giving families the flexibility to access our services even if we are not directly contracted with their insurance provider. We understand the importance of insurance coverage and strive to work with families to ensure they receive the benefits they are entitled to. Our team is available to assist with insurance verification and provide guidance throughout the billing process.

Do I need a referral? Where do I send a referral?

At Beyond Speech Therapy, we do require a referral before starting any services. This ensures that we have the necessary information to understand your child's needs and provide appropriate care. Referrals can be sent to us by fax at 302-883-8192 or emailed to megan@beyondspeechtherapyde.com. Once we receive the referral, our intake process will be initiated, and we will reach out to you to gather further information and schedule an evaluation. We strive to make the referral and intake process as seamless as possible for our clients and their families. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our office.

Is an evaluation required prior to beginning services?

Yes, at Beyond Speech Therapy, we typically require an evaluation prior to beginning therapy services. We believe that a comprehensive evaluation allows us to assess the specific needs of each individual and develop an effective treatment plan. While we prefer to conduct our own evaluations to ensure accuracy and consistency, there may be instances where we can accept an outside evaluation. This will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration the date of the evaluation and the information provided. Our team will review the outside evaluation and determine if it meets our standards and aligns with the goals of therapy. We always strive to provide the best care possible, and evaluations play a crucial role in that process. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please feel free to reach out to our office.

What is your attendance and cancellation policy?

At Beyond Speech Therapy, we prioritize consistent attendance as it is essential for the success of our therapy program. Insurance providers also require consistent attendance and measurable progress to continue covering services. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. We kindly request that you provide us with at least 8 hours' notice for any cancellations, and we will make every effort to reschedule your appointment. In the event of a late cancellation or no-show, there will be a $40 fee, and you may lose your appointment time. Frequent cancellations or repeated instances of no-show/no-call may result in removal from the weekly schedule and placement on flexible scheduling. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in maintaining consistent attendance to ensure the best outcomes for your therapy journey.

Can you work with my child if they get therapy services at school?

Yes, at Beyond Speech Therapy, we can provide additional therapy services for your child outside of their school-based therapy. However, it is important to note that we cannot duplicate the exact services provided at school. We must ensure that our services complement and enhance the therapy received in the school setting. We value collaboration and open communication with school-based therapists to ensure that we are working together to achieve the best possible progress for your child. By coordinating efforts and sharing information, we can create a comprehensive and integrated approach to address your child's therapy needs. Our goal is to provide valuable support and interventions that complement the services your child receives at school, leading to optimal outcomes.

My child didn't qualify for Early Intervention/School-Based Services, can you still work with them?

Yes, we can still work with your child even if they did not qualify for Early Intervention or School-Based Services. The qualifications for these programs may vary and often require more significant delays to be eligible for services. At Beyond Speech Therapy, we are equipped to address a wide range of specialized areas and can target specific areas of delay that may not have met the criteria for qualification in those programs. Our experienced therapists will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to identify your child's specific needs and develop an individualized treatment plan to address those areas. We are committed to providing high-quality therapy services and helping your child make progress in their development and overall well-being.

Can I be present for my child's session?

Absolutely! At Beyond Speech Therapy, we encourage and welcome parents and caregivers to be present during therapy sessions. We believe that family involvement and participation play a crucial role in the success of therapy. Your presence allows you to observe and learn strategies that can be reinforced at home, leading to greater progress and carryover of skills.
